토니 조 화이트(Tony Joe White)는 1943년 7월 23일 LA의 Goodwill에서 태어났다. 그는 1960년대 중반 Texas의 클럽에서 일하기 시작했고, 1968년 Nashville로 이주하였다. 1969년 데뷔 앨범 Monument, Black and White을 발표 톱10을 기록하기도 했다. 히트곡은 Polk Salad Annie, Rainy Night in Georgia, Steamy Windows, Blues for Undercover Agent 등이 있다.
